As with previous UK international exhibitions, London 2022 is being organised, managed and run solely by volunteers. To make the show a success, be need the philatelic community to rally round and offer to help make the exhibition run smoothly.
There are many areas which need volunteers, and there are job roles to suit everyone’s energy levels:
Bin Room. Help is needed on Friday 18 February, Tuesday 22 February, Saturday 26 February, Sunday 27 February. Volunteers in this role will check in/out exhibits from the commissioners, and control the material being passed to the mounting teams.
Mounting Team. Dates active: Friday 18 February, Tuesday 22 February, Saturday 26 February. The exhibits are passed out from the bin room and physically mounted and secured in the frames. On the afternoon/evening of Tuesday 5 May a huge effort is required by the volunteers to swap the first and second halves of the exhibition.
Admin Team. This is a varied team that needs help every day that the show is open. Volunteers will look after the enquiry desk, sell programmes, ensure that the hired meeting rooms are ready for use by societies to use, IT support, financial controls etc.
Reasonable expenses will be paid to those willing to donate their time.
